A code reader detected the front left abs sensor fault, I quickly cleaned up the abs ring and the fault disappeared for quite a while but now its back and happens every time I drive now. Like I say I think this is completely separate but just in case it has something to do with it. The car : 2007 C4 Grand Picasso, 1.6 diesel.
The sympoms are as follows: - The problem occurs so far only when starting the engine. Not spontaneously while driving. - The car gives a beep and a warning message right after I start the engine and the stop sign turns on. - The car is typically used less than one one hour before for a short trip.

I am surprised that the anti-pollution filter fault message is a generic message that simply says there is a fault somewhere which needs to be traced. As an ex-software engineer I can think of less confusing messages (such as ' P0561 fault' or if necessary 'unspecified fault').
